Would you eat a mealworm? Students at Nelson-Wilks-Herron Elementary School did as part of their 25th annual Arkansas Week Celebration.

During the festivities, Julie Lovett from the Bull Shoals-White River State Park, gave some third graders the chance to try a common bird snack.

Julie told the children:

If this were alive it would turn into a beetle this big. Who wants to eat one?

According to the Baxter Bulletin, hands shot up into the air!

Okay I love birds, but I think I’ll leave the mealworms to them! Would you try one? Maybe BBQ?
