Have you seen the Operation Migration Class of 2010 Whooping Cranes? Just wonderful!

Operation Migration’s first bird for 2010 was Whooping Crane #1001 which hatched May 2nd. According to their In The Field blog, a total of 6 Whooping Cranes make up the Class of 2010 so far. The most recent hatched May 11th.

Looks like all the new Whooping Cranes are doing great. Below Whooping Crane #1001 is in the circle pen going for walks, getting used to the ultralight!

It’s absolutely amazing how much time and effort goes into each and every one of these new chicks! Good luck Class of 2010!

To see all the photos of the new Whooping Cranes, check out Operation Migration’s Flickr set called 2010 Season. They will be updating the set periodically with new photos.
