I have an announcement to make! You have to see some of the Burrowing Owl photos that were added to the Burdr Flickr group this week!

Elizabeth Martin, known as E Martin Photo on Flickr, added some great photos of a Burrowing Owl she calls Jack to her Flickr page. It was part of her Burrowing Owl week.

Elizabeth describes it:

Meet Jack.

He is a burrowing owl with a beautiful seasonal nesting partner named Jill and up to 12 small young ones on the way.

He would like to tell you all about Burrowing Owl Week here on E Martin Photo’s flickr page. He says that his likeness is like no other and no one should miss Burrowing Owl Week, where one or even two images of Jack will be put up every day this week for your viewing enjoyment until Sunday evening, when Jack will announce his retirement from the modeling industry. He simply cannot tolerate the pressure of being gorgeous all the time with the babies on the way.

I really like the captions Elizabeth created for the photos. They gave the photos so much personality!

You can see the rest of the Burrowing Owl photos in Elizabeth Martin’s Flickr set. You can also purchase these photos and others at Elizabeth Martin Photography on SmugMug!

Wonderful! The owl seems like a complete individual rather than a representative of a species. Amazing.
