More Photos Of The White Blackbird
Remember the white Blackbird that was featured in the Telegraph? Well the photographer Fiona Crofts added a few more photos of the bird to the Burdr Flickr group!
You can see all of Fiona’s photos of the white Blackbird on Flickr. Be sure to check out the rest of Fiona’s photos too!
Earlier today, I saw this comment on our previous post about the white Blackbird.

I can tell you it was definitely a Blackbird not a Robin. If you’d like to see more photos of it you can view it on my flickr page, my user name is Beaker1983. There were a few other Blackbirds around I think but not close by. I haven’t seen it since but someone round the corner saw it in their garden as well.
I have to agree with Fiona. See, the photos were taken in Deeping St. James, near Peterborough, Cambridgeshire which is located in Europe. So although this white Blackbird looks similar to an American Robin, the American Robin is not found where Fiona lives.
The cute photo above was also taken by Fiona Alan Crofts at the RSPB’s Titchwell Marsh Nature Reserve. The bird in this photo is a European Robin. Definitely different from the American version!
The Common Blackbird is found throughout Europe. One of the identifying marks of this bird is the orange ring around its eye. You can see the same orange ring around the eye of the white Blackbird. See it in the close up below?
What do you think?
Thanks again Fiona for adding your photos to the Burdr Flickr group!
