Visit Antarctica through the photos and stories of Kevin and Rachel Fox as they write about their epic journey online!

Kevin Fox:

We were given the amazing opportunity to join ten of our family and friends and go on a twelve day private expedition cruise in the Antarctic Peninsula on the Hanse Explorer. Over the course of the adventure Rachel and I took over 16,000 photos while having some of the most amazing and unexpected experiences of our lives.

Having just returned from our trip, we’re now going to tell the story in pictures and words, excursion-by-excursion, over the next several weeks. We invite you to join us as we venture further south than the ship had ever gone, witness firsthand the Antarctic circle of life and death, and explore the penguin culture.

The photos on Antarctic Fox are just beautiful and there are so many of them! The penguins are definitely my favorite. There are photos of several different species including Emperor, Macaroni, Chinstrap, Gentoo and Adelie. They also managed to photograph a previously undiscovered species called the Sara Penguin!

Other birds they were able to photograph include the Giant Petrel, Skua, Blue-eyed Shag and Pink Flamingo. Yep, a Pink Flamingo!

There are also many photos of other animals like Elephant Seals, Leopard Seals and Humpback Whales. The Elephant Seal photos from day 10 of their trip are some of the cutest I’ve ever seen!

Of course no trip to Antarctica would be complete without a polar plunge. I don’t think it could get more polar than this! The photos from their polar plunge on day 5 are priceless. In the picture above, watch how her face changes once her feet enter the frigid water!

Well, until I can get down there myself, at least I can vicariously live through Kevin and Rachel. Visit Antarctic Fox to see the rest of their journey.
