Great Grey Owl by G & J Photography

Lots of owls added to the Burdr Flickr group this past week. There are photos of Great Grey Owls, Snowy Owls, Short-eared Owls, Long-eared Owls, Great Horned Owls, White-faced Scops Owls, and so many other birds too! Here are just a few of the photos.

If you look carefully at the photo called Great Grey Day, you’ll see that this Great Grey Owl has capture a little vole!

Flickr user ian.white1 captured an African Spoonbill and a Black Heron together. In this photo you’ll see the Black Heron creating shade to attract fish by forming a canopy or umbrella with its wings. Neat! There is a really good piece on the Black Heron in The Life of Birds with David Attenborough. You can watch all ten episodes of The Life of Birds for free online! Way to go BBC!
