Dentist Helps Bald Eagle
An injured bald eagle at the Bird Treatment and Learning Center in Anchorage, Alaska is getting a little help from a dentist.
Dr. Kirk Johnson, a dentist in Anchorage, hopes to repair the bald eagle’s beak.
The bald eagle’s beak is a similar material to what I’m used to working with; a little bit different, but similar so we’re happy to help, and hopefully we can come up with something that works and looks really nice.
Can’t wait to see the results! This bald eagle is so lucky to have such wonderful people helping it out!
While the mold is sent off to Idaho to be finished, a crafty volunteer made a polymer clay spacer as a temporary fix. The clay she used came from a local craft shop. In the video, the initial temporary spacer was a tan color, now its a fancy yellow similar to the bird’s beak. It even has little holes so the bald eagle can breath through it!
