Female Bald Eagle by Protection Island

Benjamin Franklin’s choice for the symbol of America was the Wild Turkey. Now I like Turkeys too, but I’m so glad he didn’t get his way! There is just something majestic about the Bald Eagle.

When a bald eagle loses a feather on one wing, it will lose a matching one on the other. This way it doesn’t lose its balance!
