The Common Kingfisher was recently nominated as Germany’s Bird of the Year for 2009. So enjoy these amazing photographs taken of a Kingfisher fishing a small river in Land Hessen, Germany.
“The birds are notoriously difficult to photograph in action because of their speed, which can reach up to 60mph when diving.”
Well I think we can all agree that Gisela Delpho did an outstanding job photographing this Kingfisher!
